Life for now :)

Life with the USMC even though it is part time always seems to change plans. But for now things seemed to have settled into normalcy for the 1st time in a long time. Josh has been blessed with a good steady job with Marriott and as of right now he is working his 2nd day and seems to enjoy it very much. It is really close to our apartment and regular work hours! It is so wonderful lol :)

We also attended our 1st Young Republicans of Alabama meeting last night. Josh was part of the AZ group some years back, but this was my 1st time in anything like this. It was very loud and crowded because they combined the Mobile and Baldwin County groups. Overall though I enjoyed it and believe we will be going to their monthly meetings.

Last Saturday we went down to Fairhope on the bay and enjoyed a beautiful evening of Mexican food and listening to the band Roman Street. The weather was perfect! The event was hosted by a group called The Turn which is part of Celebration Church. We have good friends that attend there and we are visiting the services as well.

Happy to have my Marine home!

Life is so wonderful now that Josh is home for the time being. And he is home for longer than expected which is a wonderful blessing! I hold dear all the time we have together because the day will most likely come of his deployment. I believe God has chosen special women to to be the military wives and puts people and many other things to encourage and keep us strong. Some of us are active duty wives and others are reservist wives but we all go through the same things at some point. I know some people think "Oh he is only a reservist so it's not that bad" but I recently heard and know to be true that reservist often deploy 2x as often as active duty servicemen. So I found this prayer on my friend Erica's facebook and decided to post it here as well. Thank you everyone for you support :) God Bless!

The Military Wife
The good Lord was creating a model for Military Wives and was into his
sixth day of overtime when an Angel appeared.
She said, "Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one.
What's wrong with the standard model?"
The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be
completely independent, possess the qualities of both Mother and Father,
be a perfect hostess for four or forty with an hours notice, run on black
coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able
to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant or has the flu, and she
has to have six pair of hands."
The Angel shook her head. "Six pair of hands? No way!"
The Lord continued, "Don't worry, we will make other Military
Wives to help her. And we will give her an unusually strong heart
so it can swell with pride in her Husband's achievements, sustain
the pain of separation, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired,
and be large enough to say "I understand" when she doesn't and
"I love you" regardless."
"Lord", said the Angel, touching his arm gently. "Go to bed and
get some rest. You can finish this tomorrow."
"I can't stop now", said the Lord. "I am so close to creating something
so unique. Already this model heals herself when she is sick,
can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave goodbye
to her Husband from a pier, a runway or a depot, and understand
why it is important that he leave."
The Angel circled the model of the Military Wife, looked at it
closely and sighed. "It looks fine, but it's too soft."
"She may look soft," replied the Lord, "but she has the strength
of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."
Finally, the Angel bent over and ran her finger across
the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced.
"Something is wrong with the construction. I'm not surprised that
it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."
The Lord appeared offended at the Angel's lack of confidence.
"What you see is not a leak. It's a tear."
"A tear? What is it there for?", asked the Angel.
The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment,
loneliness, pride and dedication to all the values that she
and her Husband hold dear."
"You are a genius!" exclaimed the Angel.
The Lord looked puzzled and replied,
"I didn't put it there."

Thankful for support

This may sound like I am accepting an award but here it goes lol.....

I am so grateful to all of my family and friends for all of the help and support they give me when Josh is away. It has been especially hard this month since I have only been able to talk to him once and it was the longest I had ever gone without at least talking to him. It definitely makes you depend more on God and I believe can make your marriage stronger if you let it. He comes back home in 10 days for a 5 days before heading off to VA! I am so excited even if it's only a short time. But the next 2 months will be alot easier because we will be able to communicate pretty much every day. So many things seem to go wrong when I am not able to talk to him...my cell phone, the brakes in my car...surprise bills. But God is good and has taken care of me through it all.

Finally Updating

Well my sister Jill has been after me to update my blog lol. Here ya go sis!

I have been missing Josh sooo much! He left over a week ago now. The really great surprise was I got to talk to him last Sunday for 30 minutes :D I didn't think we were going to be able to communicate at all. But now there is a possibility that we may get to talk for 30 min. on Sundays from now on HOPEFULLY!

I had a great time on July 4th with my friend Vanessa and her family. We spent Saturday and Sunday in Gulf Shores, AL. On Saturday we were in a boat for 8 hrs and it was so much fun! Jet skiing and tubing was something I hadn't done in a loooong time. We also enjoyed grilling and fireworks as well. I wish Josh had been there for the fun.

I am so excited about this wknd! My friend Ashley is getting married and I have the honor of being a bridesmaid. I am looking forward to all the fun involved..especially getting my nails done ;) lol. Clark and Ashley will make an awesome married couple and I can't wait for them to move accross the street!

Life moves fast.....

This Saturday Josh and I will have been married for 6 months. It seems so long ago yet so recent. It's kind of hard to explain lol. I love him so much more every day :) I am very blessed.

We are very excited to be moving next Wed. to a bigger apartment closer to my family! We are getting a great rate too! So many things are coming up fast this month..the CHEF Convention which Josh and I volunteer at..Ashley's wedding shower...USMC family day with Josh's unit and alot more. I want to make this month last for a long time and spend lots of time with Josh because sadly he is leaving for 3 months on June 29th. The good thing is he will be completing his training with the USMC! I am very proud of him and he doesn't like alot of credit given to him for what he has accomplished. And when he comes home late September I get to keep him home for the rest of the year hopefully! lol

This August I will be teaching ballet for Gracelines Dance Studio again! Looking forward to having my girls back and new ones as well! Ballet has always been a part of my life and I'm so happy that it has remained that way for now. Josh has always been very supportive of it.

I recently left the store Justice that I was working for lots of reasons. But mainly because it was taking more time away from Josh and home than we wanted. I loved the people that I worked with and they remain great friends! It has been a great thing to have a free schedule to get things accomplished and be home with Josh during the day since he works nights :)

I will also try to update my blog more!

Happy Ressurection Day :)

Hello!
I just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone and wish you a upcoming Happy Ressurection Day! Josh's parents have moved to Baton Rouge, LA temporarily and we are very excited to have them closer than AZ to us! Tomorrow afternoon we are taking a quick trip to spend Ressurection Sunday with them :)

Josh has been home from active USMC a week now! We had a great mini vacation at Gulf Shores the weekend he came back. I love him dearly and glad to have him back :) God has truly blessed us.

I have also entered the twitter world and getting used to it. So far it's alright but I still prefer my facebook. Also coming up soon is Bay Shore Ballet Theatre's production of the classic ballet Coppelia. I am part of the company and we have 4 or 5 performances in 2 weeks.

Almost Home...

I am sooooo excited!!! Josh will be coming home in 8 days!! We are going to spend a weekend at the beach before real life starts back. Prayerfully it won't rain alot. We also know the next dates for when Josh will be gone to complete his USMC training. June 29th- Sept. 20. :O There is a slight chance I may be able to join him at Virginia Beach, VA at the beginning of August so if it's the Lord's will it will all work out. Keep us in your prayers! And let me know if there is anything I can pray for for anyone else :)

Hope time flies fast......

Well, right now I am sitting in the Panera Bread of Pensacola trying to kill time before I meet some friends later this afternoon to hang out. I took Josh to the airport this morning and did really well till our last good bye and cried a little. But I always do even though this isn't a really long separation haha. I can't wait till he comes back in April! I have already started a countdown :) I plan on keeping myself busy this month with work, rehearsals, and spending time with friends and family.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I feel so blessed to have my Marine home on Valentine's Day. I have so many friends who's significant other is deployed or training. I know my day may come where I am in their place, so I am thankful for my time now. I went to the post office yesterday and hope my valentine swap buddy for the Semper Fi group likes the goodies I mailed her:)

Another recent happiness in my life is my good friend Ashley became officially engaged last night :D! I am so happy and excited for her! She and Clark are a great couple and I wish them all the love and happiness that Josh and I have. She also asked me to be a bridesmaid...I LOVE WEDDINGS! So of course I said yes:) It will be something to keep my mind busy while Josh is gone as well.

He leaves 2 weeks from today blah:P But I won't let that spoil my happy wknd. Tonight we are going to a Fine Arts concert to hear one of the Irish Tenors. I believe it is Anthony Kearns. I love dressing up in formals and going to concerts lol. I am such a girly girl haha. We don't really have any major plans for Valentine's other than tonight and most likely to dinner tomorrow.

Tonight the church's homeschool group is hosting a Father/Daughter Purity banquet which I was able to help decorate a little bit yesterday. Everything was so lovely and all the ladies did a wonderful job. I can't wait to see the pics from that. My sister and Dad are attending.

Let's try this again shall we.......

Hello Everyone!

Soooo it's been quite some time since my last post. Really I had wanted to give up blogging altogether because it wasn't working out as I would like it to. But my older sister Jill kept after me about it lol. I am updating this now because I am very happily married to the love of my life Josh :) Things are never boring but I wouldn't have it any other way. We are currently looking at housing options since our lease here in Mobile runs out in April and would like to move to Daphne because of the central location.

Josh leaves on Feb. 27th which I am very sad about but he will be back less than 2 months! I decided not to get specific on all of the dates yet. Which isn't too long compared to alot of other Marine girls I know. They have been a blessing for support and understanding! I look forward to the Valentine swap we have planned:) I have gotten to know them in support groups on facebook.

We have also been visiting a new church which has gone very well so far. This past Sunday we enjoyed lunch with the associate pastor and his wife. They got married the day before we did this past December so it was fun comparing wedding stories. She had alot more complications in her wedding than mine! lol But we are praying and will see where the Lord will have us attend.

Work at Justice for Girls has been going well and teaching ballet at Encore Dance Studios has been fun too. Josh and I are also participating in the Bayshore Ballet's spring show Coppelia! Hahaha Josh isn't dancing ofcourse but is of great help back stage and anything that needs to be done. I love having him there. Maybe that's why God knew Josh would be a great husband for me! He and I both enjoy performances and the aspects of it together and look forward to it.

Well I will do my best to keep this updated more often :) So bear with me people! lol
