Life for now :)

Life with the USMC even though it is part time always seems to change plans. But for now things seemed to have settled into normalcy for the 1st time in a long time. Josh has been blessed with a good steady job with Marriott and as of right now he is working his 2nd day and seems to enjoy it very much. It is really close to our apartment and regular work hours! It is so wonderful lol :)

We also attended our 1st Young Republicans of Alabama meeting last night. Josh was part of the AZ group some years back, but this was my 1st time in anything like this. It was very loud and crowded because they combined the Mobile and Baldwin County groups. Overall though I enjoyed it and believe we will be going to their monthly meetings.

Last Saturday we went down to Fairhope on the bay and enjoyed a beautiful evening of Mexican food and listening to the band Roman Street. The weather was perfect! The event was hosted by a group called The Turn which is part of Celebration Church. We have good friends that attend there and we are visiting the services as well.

Happy to have my Marine home!

Life is so wonderful now that Josh is home for the time being. And he is home for longer than expected which is a wonderful blessing! I hold dear all the time we have together because the day will most likely come of his deployment. I believe God has chosen special women to to be the military wives and puts people and many other things to encourage and keep us strong. Some of us are active duty wives and others are reservist wives but we all go through the same things at some point. I know some people think "Oh he is only a reservist so it's not that bad" but I recently heard and know to be true that reservist often deploy 2x as often as active duty servicemen. So I found this prayer on my friend Erica's facebook and decided to post it here as well. Thank you everyone for you support :) God Bless!

The Military Wife
The good Lord was creating a model for Military Wives and was into his
sixth day of overtime when an Angel appeared.
She said, "Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one.
What's wrong with the standard model?"
The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be
completely independent, possess the qualities of both Mother and Father,
be a perfect hostess for four or forty with an hours notice, run on black
coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able
to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant or has the flu, and she
has to have six pair of hands."
The Angel shook her head. "Six pair of hands? No way!"
The Lord continued, "Don't worry, we will make other Military
Wives to help her. And we will give her an unusually strong heart
so it can swell with pride in her Husband's achievements, sustain
the pain of separation, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired,
and be large enough to say "I understand" when she doesn't and
"I love you" regardless."
"Lord", said the Angel, touching his arm gently. "Go to bed and
get some rest. You can finish this tomorrow."
"I can't stop now", said the Lord. "I am so close to creating something
so unique. Already this model heals herself when she is sick,
can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave goodbye
to her Husband from a pier, a runway or a depot, and understand
why it is important that he leave."
The Angel circled the model of the Military Wife, looked at it
closely and sighed. "It looks fine, but it's too soft."
"She may look soft," replied the Lord, "but she has the strength
of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."
Finally, the Angel bent over and ran her finger across
the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced.
"Something is wrong with the construction. I'm not surprised that
it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."
The Lord appeared offended at the Angel's lack of confidence.
"What you see is not a leak. It's a tear."
"A tear? What is it there for?", asked the Angel.
The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment,
loneliness, pride and dedication to all the values that she
and her Husband hold dear."
"You are a genius!" exclaimed the Angel.
The Lord looked puzzled and replied,
"I didn't put it there."

Thankful for support

This may sound like I am accepting an award but here it goes lol.....

I am so grateful to all of my family and friends for all of the help and support they give me when Josh is away. It has been especially hard this month since I have only been able to talk to him once and it was the longest I had ever gone without at least talking to him. It definitely makes you depend more on God and I believe can make your marriage stronger if you let it. He comes back home in 10 days for a 5 days before heading off to VA! I am so excited even if it's only a short time. But the next 2 months will be alot easier because we will be able to communicate pretty much every day. So many things seem to go wrong when I am not able to talk to him...my cell phone, the brakes in my car...surprise bills. But God is good and has taken care of me through it all.

Finally Updating

Well my sister Jill has been after me to update my blog lol. Here ya go sis!

I have been missing Josh sooo much! He left over a week ago now. The really great surprise was I got to talk to him last Sunday for 30 minutes :D I didn't think we were going to be able to communicate at all. But now there is a possibility that we may get to talk for 30 min. on Sundays from now on HOPEFULLY!

I had a great time on July 4th with my friend Vanessa and her family. We spent Saturday and Sunday in Gulf Shores, AL. On Saturday we were in a boat for 8 hrs and it was so much fun! Jet skiing and tubing was something I hadn't done in a loooong time. We also enjoyed grilling and fireworks as well. I wish Josh had been there for the fun.

I am so excited about this wknd! My friend Ashley is getting married and I have the honor of being a bridesmaid. I am looking forward to all the fun involved..especially getting my nails done ;) lol. Clark and Ashley will make an awesome married couple and I can't wait for them to move accross the street!

Life moves fast.....

This Saturday Josh and I will have been married for 6 months. It seems so long ago yet so recent. It's kind of hard to explain lol. I love him so much more every day :) I am very blessed.

We are very excited to be moving next Wed. to a bigger apartment closer to my family! We are getting a great rate too! So many things are coming up fast this month..the CHEF Convention which Josh and I volunteer at..Ashley's wedding shower...USMC family day with Josh's unit and alot more. I want to make this month last for a long time and spend lots of time with Josh because sadly he is leaving for 3 months on June 29th. The good thing is he will be completing his training with the USMC! I am very proud of him and he doesn't like alot of credit given to him for what he has accomplished. And when he comes home late September I get to keep him home for the rest of the year hopefully! lol

This August I will be teaching ballet for Gracelines Dance Studio again! Looking forward to having my girls back and new ones as well! Ballet has always been a part of my life and I'm so happy that it has remained that way for now. Josh has always been very supportive of it.

I recently left the store Justice that I was working for lots of reasons. But mainly because it was taking more time away from Josh and home than we wanted. I loved the people that I worked with and they remain great friends! It has been a great thing to have a free schedule to get things accomplished and be home with Josh during the day since he works nights :)

I will also try to update my blog more!
